Shelf Life is built to keep your data yours.
Your games, plays, players, and stats live on your device and sync through your own private iCloud account (Apple CloudKit). We never see or have access to this data unless you explicitly enable an optional integration that uploads a limited stats snapshot to a service you configure.
When you search for or import a game, your request (the search text or game ID, plus your IP address) is routed through our proxy server, hosted on Cloudflare, to fetch game information from BoardGameGeek and, after a game is selected, mechanic labels from Wikidata. This is used only to return results, enrich saved game metadata, and prevent abuse. We don't store it or tie it to you.
No accounts. No ads. No analytics or tracking. We don't sell or share your data. Optional integrations are off by default and only send data after you configure them.
